Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the WasThatTrue website and waitlist (“Service”). By submitting your email address to join the waitlist, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. About the Service
WasThatTrue is an early-stage product being built by a solo developer in the United Kingdom. The Service that exists today is this website and an email waitlist. The Chrome extension itself — described elsewhere on the site — is not yet available. Features, pricing, and timing are subject to change.
2. The waitlist
Joining the waitlist means giving us your email address so we can contact you about WasThatTrue. We will use it to send you a confirmation, occasional product updates, and a notification when the Chrome extension launches. We will not use it for unrelated marketing or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
We make no guarantee that the Chrome extension will launch, that any particular feature will be built, that any timeline will be met, or that you will be offered access on a specific schedule. The waitlist is also a validation step — if not enough people sign up, the project may not proceed.
3. Leaving the waitlist
You can ask us to remove your email at any time by emailing hello@wasthattrue.com from the address you signed up with. Once the Chrome extension launches and we begin sending product emails, an unsubscribe link will be included in every message.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit email addresses you do not own or are not authorised to use.
- Use automated tools to submit large numbers of waitlist signups, or otherwise abuse the form.
- Attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.
5. Intellectual property
The WasThatTrue name, logo, written content, design, and code are owned by us. You may share links to the website freely. You may not copy substantial portions of the site, claim them as your own, or use the WasThatTrue brand to imply an affiliation we have not agreed to.
6. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties — including Supabase (database), Resend (email), and Vercel (hosting) — to operate. Our Privacy Policy describes what data is processed and by whom. We are not responsible for the availability or behaviour of those third-party services.
7. No warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties — express or implied — about its availability, reliability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WasThatTrue and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost data, lost profits, or missed opportunities. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to £100. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, particularly when the Chrome extension launches and the Service expands to include accounts and paid plans. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify the waitlist by email.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
